About Me

Welcome
I am a licensed psychotherapist practicing in New York, California, and Connecticut. I received my M.S.W. at New York University and training in psychodynamic psychotherapy at Washington Square Institute in New York’s Greenwich Village. I have completed postgraduate trainings in Emotionally Focused Therapy with Dr. Sue Johnson and couples therapy with Orna Guralnik, PsyD, among others. I learn daily from the insight and resilience of my clients.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy focuses on early relationships to uncover the origins of our unconscious thoughts and feelings. These unconscious influences shape our perceptions of self and others, cause psychological symptoms, and strain relationships. Exploring these influences empowers clients to override unwanted patterns and experience a more expansive emotional life.
Research shows that the therapeutic alliance is a primary component of successful treatment. This alliance is an in-depth relationship between therapist and client, a bond marked by trust, collaboration, and agreement on therapy goals. Working with a skilled, dedicated, compassionate practitioner matters. I am here to help.
A note about private practice
There are many modes of receiving support and creating change. Most of us have opportunities to read generic advice or techniques in books, online articles, and through social media and apps. While useful, these paths are missing something crucial: the therapeutic alliance.
The therapeutic alliance is the in-depth relationship between professional and client. Creating rapport, trust, and collaboration is something an observer of content misses out on.
Just as dating apps and advice podcasts have their limitations in molding our relationships, so do some of the more convenience-focused treatment approaches. Investors, text-based communication, and corporate privacy concerns have no place in my practice. Our collaboration will be focused on one thing—your well-being.
